Drumroll, Please: Introducing The Carey Group’s Newest Risk Reduction Curricula

The Carey Group recently unveiled its three newest risk reduction curricula in Maricopa County, Arizona: Achieving Risk Reduction Through Effective Staff Interactions for Line Staff, Achieving Risk Reduction Through Effective Staff Interactions for Supervisors, and Risk Reduction Coaching for Supervisors.

Achieving Risk Reduction Through Effective Staff Interactions for Line Staff summarizes the research behind, and discusses daily practice implications of, the risk, need, and responsivity principles. It also answers questions such as “What are the hallmarks of an effective intervention?” “What role does professional alliance play in offender success?” and “What is the best way to respond to noncompliance and, equally as important, to positive behavior?”

Achieving Risk Reduction Through Effective Staff Interactions for Supervisors examines the qualities and skills that supervisors require in an EBP environment and identifies key performance measures that should be encouraged.

Risk Reduction Coaching for Supervisors guides participants in identifying the key areas for quality assurance and continuous quality improvement in an EBP environment, the qualities of an effective coach, what to look for when coaching, a process for coaching, and ways to develop and sustain a learning culture that promotes risk reduction.
